About HSZ Executive Advisory

HSZ Consulting GmbH was established in Zug, Switzerland, in 2017 by founder and owner Hege Sollie-Zetlmayer. Today, under the brand HSZ Executive Advisory, the company provides highly personal advisory support to a limited number of senior executives, founders and boards.

Hege brings more than 30 years of international business and leadership experience across the biopharmaceutical, medical technology and healthcare industries. Her career has included roles as entrepreneur, General Manager, board member and global Chief Human Resources Officer, leading organizations and teams across Europe, the United States, Asia and the Middle East.

Her experience sits at the intersection of business, leadership, people and culture. She is particularly sought out during pivotal leadership situations—succession and transitions, founder and executive advisory, leadership team effectiveness and culture.

Having spent much of her career inside businesses rather than advising them from the outside, Hege brings a pragmatic perspective: understanding the issue is often the easy part. The real challenge is knowing how to move forward.

Whether it is appointing a new CEO, building a leadership team, navigating a founder transition or strengthening culture, these moments shape the future of an organization.

Hege Sollie-Zetlmayer

Over more than 30 years, I have led businesses, built global teams and advised leaders across Europe, the US, Asia and the Middle East.

My most valuable education, has been what I call the Harvard of life. It taught me that leadership is shaped by adversity, responsibility and the choices we make when circumstances are beyond our control and the answers are not obvious.

Today, I bring that experience to a small number of senior executives, founders and boards navigating important leadership moments.

What I've learned

Throughout my career—as an entrepreneur, General Manager, board leader and Chief Human Resources Officer—I have learned that organizations rarely struggle because of strategy alone. They struggle when leadership, culture and execution become disconnected. I have learned that organizations are rarely defined by their best days. They are defined by the decisions leaders make during the most challenging ones.

My Leadership Philosophy

Leadership isn't about having all the answers. It's about having the courage to make decisions when there are no easy answers.

Culture is created by what leaders do, not what organizations say.

Every leader deserves someone who will challenge them, support them—and tell them the truth.

When leaders call me

Leaders rarely need more theory. Sometimes they need an experienced, independent perspective when the way forward isn't obvious.

When a leader has lost traction with the team

Results may still be there, but trust, engagement or relationships are not.

When an executive feels stuck

What worked before isn't working anymore. Bringing people along has become harder, feedback is uncomfortable, or something simply doesn't feel right.

When a CEO needs a trusted sounding board

Someone independent who understands senior leadership, asks the uncomfortable questions and tells the truth.

When a founder is entering a new leadership chapter

The business has grown, expectations have changed, and their leadership needs to evolve with it.

When a board is facing succession or transition

Because the question isn't only who comes next, but how to make the transition successful.

When culture is getting in the way of the business

Leadership behaviors, trust or ways of working are no longer supporting where the organization needs to go.

" Sometimes the challenge isn't the business.
It's how you are leading it. "

Senior leadership can be a lonely place, particularly when something isn't working. I provide an independent perspective to help leaders understand what's happening around them, see what they may not be seeing themselves, and decide what to do next.

Let's talk

I work with a limited number of organizations and leaders each year. If you're facing an important leadership moment, I'd be pleased to start a conversation.
